Our Success Rate

ASV has a fairly good success rate – approximately 60 – 70% of residents are fully rehabilitated ie are able to lead a normal life and join the main stream of society; get employment, marry and have their own families. 20 to 25% are able to independently take care of themselves and engage in part time work; 10 – 15% leave before completing their treatment.

Unique Features

We collaborate closely with the client and family to design each person's program individually and activities are arranged to respect individual needs and interests. We use only optimum dosage of medication. We believe that people with mental illness can be taught to be aware and take responsibility for themselves, hence we need them to be less sedated. Because of this we use innovative methods when management becomes a problem & are not quick to hospitalize them. Therefore, we are able to accommodate residents from an acute phase to full recovery. Our staff resident ratio is almost 1:1

Training & Internships

Raising mental health awareness with facts, helps to reduce stigma and create more supportive communities. To encourage through education, ASV offers internships & encourages educational universities to visit our community, not only to see the work we do, but be a part of spreading awareness by word of mouth.   We look forward to have more universities join us in spreading this awareness. We need to share concern/ share observations with friends/focus on being nonjudgmental, be compassionate and empathetic

The ASV Psychology Internship program are conducted thrice a year.  Each batch will have a limited number of 7 students.

The primary purpose of our internships is to enhance students of psychology to reach educational goals within a therapeutic community setting. It is intended to place students in practice settings, engaging them in group supervision and reflection which both examines professional/personal matters that arise in practice and problem-solving in a community living setting. We plan to start an International Internship Programme by the end of this year, which will be an intense learning experience for global students.
